Vintage Rue de Gourmet ~ Sigma the Tastesetter ~ Jam Jar/Butter Crock/Sugar Bowl ~ 1984 ~ Made in Japan ~ Excellent Condition!
This vintage box shaped piece features a Parisian street scene on both front and back. I imagine this amazing little jar originally came with a spreader and/or a spoon that were tucked neatly in the outside slots/handles. Add your own spoon or knife to use it how you like, as a jam jar, butter crock or sugar bowl. Whichever way you choose add this to your existing Sigma the Tastesetter collection or start a new one. Jar and lid are both in mint condition!

Shipping Costs:
Shipping costs these days are astronomical and eBay takes a chunk of the shipping fee you paid to us after the sale! Combine that with all the shipping supplies (outlined in the section below) that come out of our pocket and sometimes we lose money shipping the item to our customers. We wish the cost to ship items wasn't so high,
but we cannot control it
so requesting lower shipping costs from us usually won't result in a lower amount.

multiple items
and want to see if combined shipping would save you money, please contact us! When multiple items are purchased we automatically combine the items and whenever possible lower the shipping costs for you.

If the shipping cost seems
unusually high
, mistakes do happen in creating our listings (for example: a set of salt and pepper shakers usually don't weigh 5 lbs) so feel free to contact us.
Our Process:
We go out treasure hunting for each one of our unique items so that you don't have to!
When necessary, we thoroughly clean and repair them (without risking the inherent integrity of the piece). We take more than a dozen professional-style photos of the items. We research everything we can find on our products and their manufacturers to pass that knowledge on to you, the savvy shopper. Whenever possible, we track and post information on the provenance. We discover how to properly care for the item and pass those suggestions on to you. After all that effort we create a detailed description and post the items to our eBay store.
Storage & Packaging:
Until the items find a new home we keep them safe in our secure storage facility. Once sold we package the items with all the care we would want our own orders shipped. We purchase the right size box for the job to ship the item to you, Then there's the packing tape, bubble wrap, air pouches and "FRAGILE" stickers all purchased by us to ensure safe shipping. Then at last, we drive them to the shipper. (USPS, FedEx, etc.) for delivery hoping they care as much as we do about its safe arrival. We wish we could hand deliver them to you, but alas, we cannot.
We rely on the shippers professionalism and care to get the items safely to your home.
Items Damaged in Shipping:
We take great pride in packing our products to precision for safe shipping and for storage once the item arrives. That being said,
unfortunately breakage happens!
We cannot control how the USPS or FedEx handle a package once it has left our safe hands. If you receive a damaged shipment, please keep in mind
we
did not damage it. We find some of the most incredible, often rare or antique treasures, so when they are broken en route to you it breaks our hearts. If your item does arrive broken,
please contact us before opening a case with eBay. We are not circumventing the returns process whatsoever, we are simply trying to resolve it as quickly as possible for both of us.
We will need photos of the damaged item and the box it came in so we can file a claim with the shipper. Your cooperation in this process allows us to issue
you
a refund long before
we
ever receive one (if ever).
